YOU LEARN

Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine’s location on the island of St. Kitts provides additional learning opportunities not found near many US or Canadianveterinary programs. Outside of your official DVM classes you will have the opportunity to work hands-on with numerous species through campus clubs and organizations including, sea turtles, horses, monkeys, dogs, cats, goats, cows and more. Within your coursework you will begin your hands-on training through our Essential Veterinary Skills (EVS) labs starting in your first semester. Through EVS you will work on your surgical, clinical and communication skills helping you becomeproficient in your skills before your clinical rotations. 

VETERINARY PROGRAMS

Get ready to dive in on your first day. At Ross, we provide hands-on education with animals in our high-tech campus facilities led by highly skilled instructors.

DOCTOR OF
VETERINARY MEDICINE (DVM)

  • GRE optional when enrolling for January, May, and September 2021
  • 3 start dates a year: January, May and September
  • 10 semester curriculum is designed to be taken year-round without summers off
  • Upon graduation and passing the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination you will be eligable to practice in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico
  • Option to complete your DVM and MSc at the same time by adding only one additional semester when you choose the integrated DVM/MSc option

  • Master of Science (MSc) by Research

Can I learn my DVM withot completing a bachelor's degree?

Yes! it is possible to be accepted into our DVM program as long as you have completed the pre-requisite courses and meet all of the admission requirements.

 

Can I use US federal direct loans?

Yes. Qualified students are eligible for US federal direct loans.

 

How will I live in St. Kitts?

The first seven semesters for the DVM program take place in St. Kitts. The last three semesters are completed at an AVMA-accredited* school or college of veterinary medicine in the US, Canada or abroad. You will be asked to give us your top 3 clinical placement choices.

 

If I've filled out the VMCAS application do I need to fill out Ross Vet's as well?

No. If you have completed the common application with VMCAS you can send it to us via VMCAS.

I would definitely recommend going to Ross Vet. It is going to be different, but that’s why there is a real sense of community. Everyone is supportive. Everyone is looking out for you, making sure you’re succeeding, because the professors and your classmates want you to succeed.
