How do I get into vet school?
To get into vet school, you must meet these DVM program admissions requirements:
  • 48+ Credits of College Work
  • 150+ Hours Work Experience
  • English Competency
You will also need to provide the following documents to start and submit your application:
  • Personal Essay or VMCAS Personal Statement
  • Official Undergraduate Transcripts
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • CV or Resume (optional)

Should I have veterinary medicine and animal exposure experience to be considered?
To be considered for the DVM program applicants must have at least 150 hours of veterinary medicine experience with a veterinarian; this can be paid employment, shadowing, or volunteering.

Applicants must have at least two letters of recommendation; one must be an academic letter from a college professor and one must be from a DVM from your work, shadow, or volunteer experience.

Yes! It is possible to be accepted into our DVM program as long as you have completed the pre-requisite courses and meet all of the admission requirements.
How long will I live in St. Kitts?
How long will I live in St. Kitts?
The first seven semesters for the DVM program take place in St. Kitts. The last three semesters are completed at an AVMA-accredited school or college of veterinary medicine in the US, Canada or abroad. You will be asked to give us your top 4 clinical placement choices.

Yes. Qualified students are eligible for US federal direct loans.

No. If you have completed the common application with VMCAS you can send it to us via VMCAS.

The GRE is not required to apply to Ross Vet. However, applications that include the GRE, regardless of GRE score, will be given priority in the review process. At Ross Vet, we know there is more to your story than GPA and GRE, and that’s why we take into account each applicant’s unique attributes and experiences in addition to important academic elements, such as grade trends over time. Our holistic review process helps ensure every applicant is thoroughly evaluated as an individual and has an opportunity for a fair shot at gaining admission to the DVM program.. DOCTOR OF VETERINARY MEDICINE (DVM)

  • 3 start dates a year: September, January, and May
  • 10 semester curriculum is designed to be taken year-round without summers off
  • Upon graduation and passing the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination® you will be eligible to practice in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico
  • Option to complete your DVM and MSc at the same time by adding only one additional semester when you choose the integrated DVM/MSc option

VET PREP PROGRAM

  • 1-semester bridge program that teaches foundational knowledge, skills, and terminology to set you up for success (and even give you a head start) in the DVM program
  • Hands-on learning and animal experience through coursework and wet labs
  • Upon passing, you are guaranteed a spot in the next first-semester class of the DVM program
